- Notes: Pianist Sean Fleming and bassist Chuck McGregor will present an uplifting collection of novelty piano, ragtime, early jazz, and stride pieces on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 4:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Camden, 55 Elm Street, on Route 1. The concert will well-known and rarely-played compositions by “Zez” Confrey, George Gershwin, Scott Joplin, Joseph F. Lamb, “Jelly Roll” Morton, “Fats” Waller and more. This concert is presented as part of the Friends of Music Concert Series, an outreach program of the First Congregational Church of Camden. A reception will follow the concert in the church’s Pilgrim Room with light refreshments and an opportunity to meet and discuss the music with the musicians. As always, each Friends of Music concert is free and open to the public, although donations to sustain the program are cheerfully accepted at the door. For more information, call 207-236-4821.
