- Notes: The Tapestry Singers, directed by Harold “Sandy” Falconer, are planning an all Bach and Mozart program, accompanied by the DaPonte String Quartet, flute and double bass. Also featured will be organist Sean Fleming. Soloists for the concert include Amy Lalime and Sue Hunt mezzo-sopranos, Timothy Johnson tenor, and Richard Francis baritone. The pieces, Bach Cantatas 196, 182 and 6 (the latter featuring Myles Jordan on violoncello piccolo) and Mozart Misericordias Domini and Missa Brevis in B-flat, were all created when the composers were in their teens or early twenties. The concerts will take place at the Second Congregational Church, 51 Main Street in Newcastle, Saturday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 2 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 and available at the door or may be purchased in advance from the Maine Coast Book Shop and Café, from chorus members, or by calling 207-644-1174.
