- Notes: St. Andrew’s Church Youth Choir presents “Godspell Jr.,” Saturday, May 21st at 7:00 pm and Sunday, May 22nd at 1:30 p.m., at 2nd Congregational Church in Newcastle. The whole community is invited to join us, as the eleven-member cast sings and acts their way through this modern and lighthearted retelling of the Gospel of Mark. A free-will offering will be donated to the Ecumenical Food Pantry. “Godspell Jr.” is true to the original Broadway musical, with the same energy, fun and emotional range, but at a duration of 45 minutes, it’s more accessible for families. Gabe Ferrero takes on the role of Jesus with sensitivity and humor, and Richard Kinney is a wonderfully conflicted Judas. The other disciples are played by Vanessa Albert, Sarah Begin, Cayleigh Hearth, Helen Newell, Phoebe Pugh, Amelia Rosko, Gabriella Wright, with musical help from Benji Pugh and Norbert Ferrero. Melissa Hearth and Linda Blanchard direct the show, with piano accompaniment by Sean Fleming. For more information, call 380-2768.
