- Notes: Damariscotta organist Sean Fleming will present an organ recital at Searsport First Congregational Church on Sunday, November 11 at 3 p.m. There will be no charge for the concert, but donations will be received the church building project, which will provide the community with additional meeting venues and an elevator for increased access. Featured on the 1906 E.W. Lane tracker organ will be Bach’s Concerto in G Major, BWV 592, Mendelssohn’s Sonata No. 3, Franck’s Offertoire in E Flat Major, CFF 36B, Guilmant’s paraphrase of a chorus from Handel’s “Judas Maccabeus” (“To thine be the glory…”), “A Meditation on Brother James’ Air” by Harold Darke, “Concert Variations on The Star Spangled Banner” by the Maine-born composer John Knowles Paine, and Widor’s famous Toccata from the 5th Organ Symphony. Sean Fleming is renowned for his work as organist, pianist, music director, and accompanist throughout the United States. He serves as music director for the Young at Heart group, assistant director and accompanist of Midcoast Community Chorus, and accompanies Bowdoin Chorus, Lincoln Festival Chorus, St. Cecilia Chamber Choir, and Sheepscot Chorus. He regularly works with Downeast Singers and Tapestry Singers. Fleming has worked with the Ann Arbor Camerata, Bowdoin College Chamber Choir, Bowdoin Summer Music Festival Chorus, Oratorio Chorale, University of Michigan Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and the University of Southern Maine Chorale and Chamber Singers. Sean has performed as accompanist in recitals at Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Round Top Center for the Arts, University of Southern Maine, University of Michigan School of Music, and many other venues.
