- Notes: Join the Watts Hall Community Players for “Summer Songs: A Musical Revue/Preview”! The exciting show will be performed live at 7 PM on Friday and Saturday, July 2 and 3. Numbers from favorite Watts Hall musicals will be performed, including “The Music Man,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “South Pacific,” “The Pirates of Penzance,” and “Once Upon a Mattress.” As a special treat, the Players will present several numbers from a newly-written musical, “Count Me In.” Fun for all ages, “Summer Songs” is sure to get your feet tapping and bring a smile to your face. The famous barbershop quartet from “The Music Man” will make an appearance, accompanied by the fast-talking ladies of River City, Iowa, in the famous “Pick-a-Little”/”Good Night Ladies” number. Joseph’s brothers will lament the past good old days in the humorous “Those Canaan Days.” Watts Hall will be taken over by raucous pirates singing “I Am the Pirate King,” and then a certain Major-General will sing about “information vegetable, animal, and mineral.” And the cast will make a jaunt to 15th century Europe when Princess Winifred sings about how “Shy” she is, and the crafty Queen Aggravain plots how to test the “Sensitivity” of the princess. Don’t miss “Summer Songs” on July 2 and 3! The cast are all fully-vaccinated, and the audience will be wearing masks. Doors will open at 6:15 and a suggested donation of $10 will be collected there. No advance tickets. For more information, visit facebook.com/wattshallcommunityplayers, or call 207-542-9079.
